Your Grace Still Amazes Me

I had the opportunity to spend the weekend doing the video for the Meaford Youth Rally. I feel thankful and blessed to have spent time with people who are working to build their relationship with Christ and share that faith with others. It is encouraging to know that others are on the same walk as I am and knowing this has helped me to become stronger in my faith. Thank you team for all your hard work and dedication to sharing your faith.

This past weekend the praise team sang a new song "Your Grace Still Amazes Me"

My faithful Father, enduring Friend
Your tender mercy’s like a river with no end
It overwhelms me, covers my sin
Each time I come into Your presence
I stand in wonder once again

CHORUS:
Your grace still amazes me
Your love is still a mystery
Each day I fall on my knees
Your grace still amazes me
‘Cause Your grace still amazes me

Oh, patient Saviour, You make me whole
You are the Author and the Healer of my soul
What can I give You, Lord, what can I say
I know there’s no way to repay You
Only to offer You my praise

It’s deeper, it’s wider
It’s stronger, it’s higher
It’s deeper it’s wider
It’s stronger, it’s higher than anything my eyes can see

As I was singing I was reminded of how infinite God's grace is. No matter what, God is there full of love and grace to guide and take care of me.

Which brings me to this morning. I checked my Facebook and found a message from a friend of my cousin. My cousin had the same kind of cancer that Terry Fox had. Mark had been through many rounds of Chemo and treatments. He had gone into remission once, but the cancer came back. On the night of Saturday, Feb 27, 2009 his body couldn't handle the fight anymore and he passed away in his sleep. He fought and remained hopeful that he could beat the cancer. When I read the message a mix of emotions went through me. Love for a God that gave him the time he had, hope that his family can be folded in the warmth of God's grace and love and sadness for the hurt and ache the loss of a loved one causes. As the song above says "You are the Author and the Healer of my soul" and I know that God will reach out and heal the broken hearts of Mark's family and friends. Somehow they will make it and the hope and love that Mark had to share will remain written on their hearts. My heart aches for their loss and I pray that the loving and compassionate God I see everyday will reach out and heal.

"Your love is still a mystery
Each day I fall on my knees
Your grace still amazes me"
