Flats and Handwashing Challenge

I have signed up for the Flats and Handwashing Challenge started by Dirty Diaper Laundry. You can read about it here.

I've already let the hubs know that I'm doing and all though he thinks I'm only sightly crazy he is on board. He said that he really doesn't care what I do as long as I wash them. So for 1 week I will wash my cloth diapers (flats and 5 covers) by hand and only hang them to dry.

I am doing this for a couple of reasons:
1. I want to see if I can.
2. I enjoy cloth diapering and want to show others that it isn't as complicated as it seems.

I will wash them in my laundry tub. I think I'm going to wash them every other day. It will make it easier because there will be smaller loads and therefore less staining. I'm praying for sunny days so I can hang them on the line.

I've been doing some reading about handwashing diapers. I will go to The Cloth Diaper Guide or Zany-Zebra Designs for guidance.

You're supposed to try and use flats at night. I'm not sure my heavy wetter will manage that. I have been debating with how to handle it. It would be a lot of flats for overnight.

I'll be posting to let you know how it goes.
