I tried the kite fold last night. I didn't change C's diaper this morning, but I think it held more than I anticipated. The tricky part is getting it to fold and stay on her using the Snappis. She has such chubby thighs and I was using 3 flats. C needs all the absorbency she can get at night. I also used a bamboo flat from AppleCheeks.
Handwashing is going fine. I've found that rinsing stinky BM diapers before I wash them helps a lot (EBF so it is water soluble). I think when I do the final rinse I'm getting all the detergent out. I hope I am. I rinse as wash tub is filling so they are getting rinsed in the filled tub and under the water. This time I saved some of the rinse water to pre-soak my next wash tonight. Doing them everyday is definitely easier then leaving it for a day.
It is rainy today so I can't hang them outside. I also am running low on diapers because I didn't wash them yesterday. Now I have them hanging inside with the fan on them hoping to speed up the process.
A part of me misses throwing them in the washing machine because I can just leave them and go. The other part enjoys handwashing them because I see how clean they are. I am happy to know that when I go on vacation if I don't have access to washing machines I can easily handwash my flats. I think I would like one more pack of 6 Osocozy flats just in case. Especially if I am using 3 at night.
